We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Giving Hope To Kids program! This partnership allows us to raise money that will go directly to families in need on the CICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) – the unit where Charlotte spent most of her time.

There were many gifts that we received from friends and family while Charlotte was in the hospital that we realize not everyone has the luxury of receiving. The money we collect in donations will now be sent directly to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, and a dedicated social worker on the CICU will determine what the needs are for families at that time. Some of the things our donations will provide are:

• Short term or extended stay hotel rooms for families. Ronald McDonald House, and beds for parents at the hospital are often full. Families are forced to sleep in their child’s room, in the family lounge, or even in their cars. Cincinnati Children’s Hospital gets discounted rates at almost every hotel in town, and our donations will go towards helping these families in need.
• Gift cards for food. Many families do not have the budget to eat every meal at the hospital cafeteria or go out to eat at nearby restaurants. These gift cards will help alleviate that worry.
• Toiletries. Care packages with the simple things like shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste can help parents who are overwhelmed take care of themselves.

All of these things help parents and families with a child in the CICU focus on the most important thing – their child.
